ABOUT US

St John Bosco Gymnastics is a community based gymnastics club.  We provide fun and friendly gymnastics classes for boys and girls from the age of 5 years old. 

Our purpose is to provide fun and friendly fitness in the sport of gymnastics that is affordable for all families.

Our club culture is based on community spirit, safety, smiles and skills.

We are affiliated with Gymnastics NSW and Gymnastics Australia and are a sub club of St John Bosco Youth Centre.

St John Bosco Gymnastics Club are proud of our commitment to Child Safety.

We believe that children need the opportunity to do a sport that they
enjoy, and to feel safe and inclusive and that is affordable for
families.

Our Coaches and Committee have attained Working with Children
Registration and verification.  We provide fun and friendly fitness,
and are trained in Child Protection and CPR First Aid..

We minimise risk of injury by working to the Gymnastics NSW and
Gymnastics Australia Coaching Framework and Policies.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our gymnastics program is based on Artistic Gymnastics, so our key apparatus are Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor, which includes tumbling.  Our classes comprise of the following:

GYMNASTICS FOR ALL PROGRAMS:

Recreational gymnastics Boys and Girls – Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm

A great starting point for kids from the age of 5, learning the basic skills, and apparatus of gymnastics in a circuit  type set up and floor layout.  We minimise waiting times at each apparatus with circuits of equipment, keeping the gymnasts moving and engaged.

GymAbility Program

We want to give all children the opportunity to experience the joy of gymnastics.

We are an inclusive club, regardless of ability and offer classes for all abilitie including special/additional needs children.  We provide increased coaching and supervision for gymnasts who may need it with one on one coach assistants where required.

Pre Levels – Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

These Classes are based on a program of skills being assessed and achieved, and lessons are based on level 1 competitive skills in preparation for skills required the local, regional and State competition levels programs.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition Levels 1 – 6

Incorporating Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor routines for the National Development Program.

Class entry is by assessment, training 2 hours Wednesdays and a minimum additional 2 hours on Saturday mornings.

Team Gym

TeamGym is a program for Teams of 6-12 team members and comprises of three apparatus, a Floor routine with synchronous gymnastics dance moves and gymnastics elements, Single Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling – all performed to music. Single Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling are performed in “a stream” where one competitor comes after another. TeamGym is an exciting and audience friendly competition. TeamGym is growing in Australia, with strong teams of teenagers and young adults pitting their skills and teamwork against other teams. The Australian TeamGym program has been developed for teams of gymnasts, with performances on 3 different apparatus being Floor, tumbling and synchronised mini trampoline.

AERIAL PROGRAM

Aerial hoop and Lyra classes operate Monday and Tuesday nights.

The program is non competitive, but there are skills to achieve in a progression program and an in house display night term 3 where aerial gymnasts put on a performance for families and friends.

Performance Team Gymnastics

Performance Gymnastics provides groups of gymnasts the opportunity to showcase their gymnastics skills using any style and combination of gymnastics and dance. Opportunities exist to perform at Local, state and Global events.  Entry to performance teams are by application, audition and acceptance to local, regional and state teams. 

Clubs or Teams can perform at club functions, local community events, State & National events through to International Festivals and Contests.
